By combining the receiver and speed control, you save weight and simplify the wiring. The SPF5-ESC is incredibly versatile: at 4.5 grams, it's light enough for indoor flying, but its 20 amp rating allows it to handle large outdoor ornithopters. The soft cutoff feature prevents a sudden loss of power when battery is low, very useful for ornithopters. Use any 72 MHz FM transmitter. Operates from 2.5 to 18 volts. Programmable channel 5 or 6. 		Brushless Motor Controller Blue Arrow BA-BS-10AT - $19.00 A ten-amp brushless motor controller (ESC) that weighs only 9.8 grams, including wires. Suitable for 2-3 Li-poly cells or 6-12 Ni-MH. It has a BEC and uses one of the small white JST servo connectors to power your receiver. If your receiver uses the large black servo connectors, you can solder a new connector, sold below, to the ESC.
