Custom Wing Graphics

You can print your own custom wing graphics using an inkjet printer! It's easy to do:

  • Tape the tissue onto a sheet of regular paper. You may need to tape all four edges, or just the leading edge, depending on your printer.
  • Print your graphics on the tissue.
  • Carefully cut out the printed design.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to use the 20 by 6 inch tissue supplied with the kit. You will need three sheets of tissue, each measuring 7.5 by 10 inches. Use one for each wing and one for the tail.

You can also download free graphics for the Phoenix ornithopter kit. The file contains six different wing designs and matching tails. Print just the pages you want. Use the "mirror image" feature in your printer settings to print left and right wings. You might need Adobe Reader to open the file.
